- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Theodore F. Schaaf -- Military Operation, Heavy Emphasis on Strategy and Political Considerations : This is a good book on the military history of WWI in the Middle East. There is a heavy emphasis on strategy and political considerations; but, also details of military operations. There is a significant theme that the results were not part of a grand plan; but, resulted from ad hoc considerations. However, it seems to me that all of the participants had long term goals.
